I am sad to have to share the news that Richard (AKA The Honda Hooligan) Love passed away on May 12, 2022, at the age of 73.
His passion for vintage Honda motorcycles was well known within CVMG and many other motorcycle groups.  Rick was always more than willing to lend a hand to someone who needed guidance with their Honda cycles, or pass along a lead for parts and share excerpts from his many Honda manuals.
Rick often presented his restored machines at gatherings and rallies in Ontario and Quebec.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

On May 12th, we had the sad news of a long time member Richard Love passing away. Richard was 73 and worked as a cabinet maker until he retired. He was one of several members in our group who focus  on small Hondas and Richard made a career out of tracking castaways laying in a corner of a garage or garden shed and bringing  them back to new running condition. What surprised me was the sale value and demand, because for many riders this was their first motorcycle to a lifelong addiction and is nostalgia to reliving the early years.

One year I planned to go to the Eastern Shield rally in Ameliasburg but was laid up with an injury. Richard said he was going in his van so I joined him for the ride. What should have been a 2 or 3 our drive turned into 5 hours zig zagging the countryside with many stops and phone calls. He had gotten wind of a possible Honda 90 somewhere halfway to Ameliasburg and like bloodhounds we arrived at a small house. An old widow opened the garage door saying she couldn't pay us very much for taking away the junk. Amongst the old rolled up carpets and broken chairs there appeared to be a faded red pile of junk. Richard was grinning ear to ear. Treasure!

When we finally got to Ameliasburg, there were 10 or 12 people from the Ottawa section and it turned out to be a terrific weekend rally.

    Goodbye to the Honda  Hooligan!
