Section HistoryStarted in 1987, Great Pine Ridge (GPR) is one of the largest sections in the CVMG. The Section currently has more than 100 members and more than 400 classic and vintage motorcycles. GPR represents CVMG members living in Scarborough, as well as Durham and York regions north of Toronto.
The Great Pine Ridge name is derived from the pine forests that abound along the Oak Ridges Moraine, a significant landform in Southern Ontario. The moraine gets its name from the rolling hills and river valleys extending 160 km from the Niagara Escarpment east to Rice Lake. It was formed 12,000 years ago by advancing and retreating glaciers. GPR Section is active in the motorcycling community. By hosting and participating in a number of events, members further the aims of the CVMG, to ‘…promote the use, restoration and interest in older motorcycles’. Being part of the CVMG, the GPR section is a not-for-profit organization. | GPR's First MeetingClick the button to see the minutes of the first meeting held March 12, 1987 |
