2024 Christmas Dinner

We held our 2024 Christmas Dinner at Crabby Joe's in Exeter. We had a wonderful meal, and the service was excellent!
A special thank you to Deno for organizing this event - everyone had a great time!

A thank you and applause were given to Ed Roath! Ed planned and led one of our history rides!

Steve Summers was recognized and thanked for his contributions. Steve made a set of anchors for our canopy that would survive a hurricane!

Steve also crafted the award for John King, truly a piece of art work - thank you Steve!

We took the opportunity to present our first ever Ausable River Section Award.
It was presented to our Ride Captain, John King, in gratitude for all that he has done for our section this year. John's contributions included planning and leading 5 history rides, and arranging for a very generous donation to our section.

Ausable River Section History Ride #5

Saturday October 5, 2024

Thank you, John King for organizing and leading our Lucan to Blyth motorcycle adventure. A new introduced feature of our rides going forward is “rules of conduct” to encourage a safe journey. Andrew did the honours of reading the rules backed up by our ride captain John.

Good ride start at 10:15 am. We checked out a cairn located at the 1856 Ebenezer Cemetery honouring the early pioneers who settled in this area. Our visit at the Vanastra radar dome and buildings that housed military staff in training during WW2 was insightful. Thanks, John for your talk.

Off to Blyth travelling paved secondary roads. We had lunch at the Blyth Inn. Good food, great company.

This journey concludes our history rides for 2024. Pictures tell the story.

Thank you, John again for your dedication to planning and leading our history rides.
