CANADIAN VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE GROUP

Ganaraska 250

The G250-26 is a reworking of our former navigation-reliability-agility competition. The
G250 is a fun day of riding in the Northumberland Hills on scenic back roads with a
lunch stop in a regional town with interesting food options. An observation
competition element makes the ride interesting both in terms of navigation and
observation.
The event will be a road run on a prescribed route on beautiful country roads through
Northumberland County laid out on route sheets to a distance of under 250km.
Participants will leave in pairs (or small groups) at 1 minute intervals. There will be no
agility tests. The ride will start at around 10am. We will aim at routes that can be
completed in 2 hours in the morning plus 2 hours in the afternoon.
Observation-scoring; During the day you will pass key locations and will fill out a
multiple choice questionnaire identifying a feature of this location. Each correct answer
will add to your point score.
We encourage the use of older vintage and classic motorcycles, so, in addition this
event will dovetail with the CVMG Century awards. Extra points will be added for age of
the bike and rider, example, if the age of the bike plus the age of the rider is more than
100 (bronze), 125 (silver), or 150 (Gold) then, qualifying rider/bikes who complete the
run will be awarded a pin. Nonetheless, motorcycles pre 2000 will be permitted to
enter. Awards will be printed certificates.
A lunch destination will be identified on route in a town or village with suitable
restaurants / cafes. You will be on your own for lunch in this location or you may eat
anywhere you choose. The restaurants will be notified of the event to anticipate your
arrival. An afternoon route will guide you back to the starting site.
