Parts orders seem to be dragging out longer and longer, stuff which used to be 1 week can be 1 month or more. Are other members having this problem? picking parts from warehouse bins and shipping would seem to be a non risk situ from Covid? I recently picked up parts I had forgotten I had ordered at least 6 moths ago.
I sent a set of pistons to Norway via USPS (Canada Post too expensive and slow). They sat in Los Angeles for 2 months before they where shipped overseas. Almost 3 months to deliver.
A lot of cargo goes on passenger flights and there are few international flights. There is more money in flying frieght than carring peoples luggage. Ever wonder why airlines seem to be trying to discourage passengers from bringing suitcases?
Fortnine now takes up to 2 weeks to ship after order is placed. Their competitors are still doing it in 1 or 2 days. It looks like they are selling product they don't have and need to get it from the supplier first. I am seeing a lot of "out of stock" on their inventory.
On the flip side the Asians have sped things up by flying everything direct to Toronto or Montreal bypassing the bottleneck at Burnaby BC. I am getteing parcels delivered to Edmonton from S.E. Asia in as less as 7 days.
I got an express shipment after 2 months from China via Lon Angles provider on eBay... but postal delivery put in my neibours mail slot so things could be expected to improve....hopefully.
DHL is only shipping via ocean to Canada, from Germany anyway.
Fedex is the only reliable carrier at the moment, USA 1-3 days, England and continental Europe 3-4 days.... but it costs $$$
At the start the delivery was slow but the last 4 weeks or so it has been very good.
No fedEx or UPS for me..crooks !! USPS or Royal mail
Lately orders from Toronto or London area have been 3 days..to me that's pretty good
The UK still takes about 8 days although one package took 14 days
