Drove down to Picton a few weeks ago to a friend drag home a car he bought. He collects Canadian built sports cars. Found the only Series 2 Manic Gt ever built by the Quebec manufacturer. Unlike the early ones, this one has a full tube frame, Renault 17 Gordini engine/ gearbox, a true mid-engine, two seater. Extremely low mileage, never truly completed, might be nice, if he ever finishes it.......

Met the owner, really interesting man. Vince Murray built a number of well known “Specials”, raced at Green Acres and Harwewood and ran in the first Formula Ford and Formula B races in Canada. Built and flew his own planes, rode motorcycles and generally very cool dude! He lives in a farmhouse at the entrance of his own camp ground. His collection includes several old motor homes, melting into the ground. Very entertaining visit.

He’s probably 85+ and still working in his shops. Talented machinist, fabricator, body man, and generalist! He is trying to clear stuff (a LOT OF STUFF) and at the back of one building are a Motor Guzzi Le Mans and a ca. ‘59 Cardellino 65 Turismo. The LeMans has not run for years, totally complete and probably pretty nice under a thick layer of “shop dust”. The little bike is an older restoration and also dusty. Vince said he has a new, 1000cc kit for the 850, “somewhere”. They belonged to a friend who passed away and he bought them from his widow. Always on the lookout, I just had to ask. He suggested he would only sell as a set for more than ++twice++ what I think they are worth. If anyone is truly obsessed and has more cash than brains, I’d be happy to pass on contact info. If you are smarter than that, just ignore this post.
