looking for freight options to get a bike from Ontario
to Vancouver BC.
Hello Mathew, try Hassle Free Shipping, based in Edmonton but do country wide. Nice people and good rates.
Thanks Dennis. Will look them up
Hi Matthew I've had 2 friends move bikes from BC to Montreal using :
The fellows name is Paul Mondor ,he is a biker and knows what he is doing ,he comes highly recommended. He transports bikes all over Canada,he is definitely worth a call for a quote.
I shipped my '66 Triumph and 74 Norton Commando to Edmonton (had to downsize due to moving house) using Mackie Transport. They had the best price I could find, and super service. No need for skids, that other carriers needed, $25000 insurance included. I was also able to ship 4 boxes of spares/other stuff with the bikes at no extra cost.
Phoned before pickup, and phoned purchaser before delivery. Helped with loading and unloading. Take good care of bikes.
Here is a copy of the quote. We paid an additional $75 non runner fee for each bike. The Triumph would run, but the gas tank was empty and kick-starting would be tricky for guys used to push buttons.
Our rate for enclosed transportation of a motorcycle (in running order) from Ottawa to Edmonton is $950.00 CDN per bike, plus applicable tax.
Insurance is included to a $25,000 CDN valuation per motorcycle, 0-deductible. Additional coverage is available upon request - please ask us for a quote if required.
Can we get some feedback? Be nice to know how you made out with shipping.
Be nice to see some examples of the shipping costs in Canada.
I have shipped from the U.S. West Coast to Ontario as well as from Europe to Ontario. Can supply info if needed by anyone.
I just got a quote to ship a bike from Thunder Bay to Mississauga $600. A little steep i thought .
We have decided to go with Mackie.
Quote was for $1100 door to door, plus $100 for them to not try
and start it :)
should ship mid-March and will update with feedback once it arrives.
thank you for all of the responses.
After being told they shipped to Vancouver twice a month, I am still waiting for the bike to be picked up by Mackie Transport. Coming up on 8 weeks. My call to them last week, the dispatcher asked me to call him back “in a week to remind me”
no kidding. Not impressed at all.
