I have three Douglas flat-twin rocker box covers which are now surplus to my requirements.
All are p/n 21231, and believed to be probably from the WW2-era stationary engine flat-twin that saw service as generators, pumps and blowers. That engine became the basis for the rare and legendary post-war Douglas Dragonfly motorcycle.
Covers A and B are a pair, however cover A has damage by way of a crack in the casting which appears to be quite repairable. Cover B is undamaged.
Cover C is undamaged, but has a slightly different internal casting appearance from A and B, as can be seen from the photos.
Covers B and C could pass together as an undamaged functional pair.
All three have the usual amount of scuffing on their outside surfaces, much of which would disappear with more buffing.
An ideal Xmas gift for yourself or someone you know, that will grace a man-cave, basement bar, or a dormant Dragonfly project.
I have attached typical photos found on the internet of this style of cover on a Douglas motorcycle, and a stationary engine.
Asking $150 for the three, plus packing/shipping cost. Combined metal weight 1.34Kg. Located in Montreal. Would fit in Canada Post medium-size flat rate box (whenever they’d like the business).
