We are sad to report that Brian Weeks passed away on January 21, 2022, after a difficult battle with Non Hodgkin's lymphoma.
"I had a good run" Brian said, and he did.
He was born in Edmonton, Alberta and moved to Ontario as a young boy. He lived in many cities, Toronto, Hamilton, Alliston, Killaloe, Elmira, Elora, Fergus, Guelph, and Burlington. He also lived in Rocanville and Tantallon, Saskatchewan where he was the elected Mayor. Brian was a free spirit with a vast knowledge of nature, obscure facts, and practical and inventive problem-solving skills that he gleaned from his life in farming, industrial design including cook stoves, motorcycle restoration, glass blowing and graphic arts. He could design, build, or restore almost anything as was evident from the improvements he made on his country property.
Brian had many hobbies and interests such as motorcycle racing, canoeing, fishing, and maple-syrup harvesting and production. He was also a serious croquet player and had a deep love of music; especially the kind he could play the spoons to. The creativity and maverick ideas Brian applied to his many hobbies and interests often resulted in some memorable tales. From canoeing over the Elora Gorge to sending a Morse code message to a British frigate in Montserrat, life with Brian was unpredictable but always full of fun and adventure.
A brother to Penny, Pat, and Donna, and a loyal friend to many others, Brian will be deeply missed by all his extended brothers in motorcycling, croquet, and other adventures as well as his partner, Terri. Donations may be made in memory of Brian at Food for Life at https://foodforlife.ca/
