Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group
The idea of forming a group started in the autumn of 1968. From the 13 vintage motorcycle enthusiasts who attended the first meeting, the group now has more than 2,200 members, includinmg associate members, and 29 local sections across Canada and Internationally. see (CVMG Local Sections) Members today own more than 7,000 motorcycles covering 200 different makes. - Encourage the ownership, collection, preservation, restoration and use of motorcycles of historic interest.
- Organize rallies, shows, displays, sporting events and other activities.
- Encourage the preservation of all records, data, objects and miscellanea pertaining to the history of motorcycles and motorcycling.
- Provide an organization to carry out services required by members.
- Safeguard the rights and privileges of its members and to take action, where advisable, in cases where general principles affecting the objectives of the Group or the rights of motorcyclists are involved.
- Publish such periodicals, newsletters, or other publications as may be of service to members and further the objectives of the Group
Levels of Membership
Full Member: Is a voting member and has access to "members only" website and receives all mailed CVMG publications.
Associate Member: Must be a spouse/partner (residing at the same address as Full Member) and/or be children of a Full Member, aged under 21, or be in full time education, or grandchildren of Full Members under the age of 16. The associate member has all the privileges of the "Full Member", except for receiving magazine and roster mailings.
Benefits of becoming a CVMG Member:
Membership is open to anyone interested in vintage motorcycles. There is no requirement to own a vintage machine, rather anyone interested in the history, preservation and furthering the objectives of the CVMG are encouraged to become a member and share their enthusiasm in vintage motorcycling.
The CVMG NEWS”. This a publication usually contains 20 to 30 pages of news, events, happenings of interest for Vintage and Classic motorcyclists and a "Buy and Sell" section. Annually the “CVMG Roster” is available to members and contains only that information a member has permitted to be shared with other members.
Membership, both "Full" and "associate", permits free private classified advertising in “The CVMG NEWS”, access to the Marque Specialist advice scheme and are eligible for access to other Group services and discounts for event entrance fees. CVMG members in the province of Ontario may be eligible for reduced rate Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Insurance, for limited-use older motorcycles.
Members may affiliate with a Local Section of the CVMG CVMG Local Sections if there is one convenient to them. These Local Sections meet on a regular basis and many hold their own local events and rides.
This CVMG website was established in 2007 to satisfy our needs for a membership database. Any member with an e-mail address will have access to the "Members Only" section. Included in the "Members Only" section is access to a virtual roster, local section contact information, various materials of interest to members, a Local Events page, a Blog, and the ability to post items for sale and wanted.
Members who logon to this secure site have the ability to update their own information and set access to the information they want other members to have. Associate members also have access to a separate "memebr profile" page if requested.

The Constitution and Bylaws are reviewed annually by the CVMG Executive and proposed changes brought to the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
