    Hello,

Does; anyone have experience with the  springer suspension? As per having a  sidecar attached.

    Thanks, Doug

No eperience with one, but the early bikes certainly had sidecars on them, and the Harley 45 ex army bike I had back in the 50's would have had arrangements for mounting a chair. A lot depends on how hard you drive an outfit through the corners, with the weight of chair and body in it. cornering hard can put a deal of stress on the forks, telescopic forks tend to twist.

I ran with a military HD45 with a Steib sidecar for several years. The springer front end was a good handler and was quite strong. The military HD frame has a very short trail so no damper was needed. I eventually converted the engine  to what is called "Magnum", using an iron sportster top end. This gave much more power and much more top speed. The handling was excellent. The only major problem I had was stopping, so I converted to using a Kawasaki disc on front.  This cured the stopping.
