Side Car Tire Wear and Grand Kids

I am running a Trailer wheel on my Velorex 700 and wonder what kind of mileage others are getting for tread wear on there rigs.

I took a while to get the rig dialed in so it tracks well and has no issues handling so i am sure that has impacted the mileage greatly. My local Canadian Tire had a sale on tire and rim so i have a spare .So far three years and maybe 5000 Km and the tire is showing wear i may or may not get next year out of it .

Grand children love the sidecar and seeing they are to small to ride on the back as they wont reach the foot pegs the side car has been a great way to get them into motorcycling. Seat belt was mounted to the sidecar from just for safety sake and to keep there little butts in the seat!

it's a great option for grand kids, wives & girlfriends or drunk buddies - handy as hell for groceries and hauling parts for the other bikes too ! i'm using cheap chinese tires at the moment which seem to be last well - i dont have a source for them here in Canukistan though - keep us posted on what you end up doing !

I machined a replacement axle for my chair so I could use Norton front wheels on it. I have both 18 and 19 inch  wheels available and I use whatever old and/or  partially worn tires I have available on the chair. Its a good way to get the last bit of use out of tires. It's surprising how long tires last on the chair side. It might not work as well on a heavy sidecar though.
