Working on my 71 BSA. The scavenge oil pipe in the crankcase sump has a non-return ball valve that should sit loose at the bottom of the pipe. That ball in mine appears to be stuck up in the pipe. Trying gently to prod and dislodge it. No luck yet. Anyone had this experience?

The ball should be loose,  the oilway to the pump from  the pickup pipe is  drilled L shaped in the case.   The vertical  hole to the pump can be accessed by removing the plug with an allen key provided the frame isn't in the way..      loctite it when reinstalling it .

Thanks Rick. I did manage to loosen it.
