Motorcycle Film Festival - TMFF

  • 22 Aug 2019
  • Hamilton, Ontario

With the opening of the beautiful and newly renovated Playhouse Cinema, we're excited to announce that we'll be holding a Best of TMFF movie night in Hamilton on Thursday, August 22. With some family roots in Steeltown, this is something that we've been wanting to do for some time. If you didn't have an opportunity to attend the Festival previously or want to see the movies again, here's your chance.

Movie and Ticket Info

We will be announcing this year's full Festival lineup and ticketing information on August 5th, but until then, we thought we'd give you the inside scoop on three of the films that you are definitely going to want to see.

This is a film that we received a ton of enquires about, and that had BikeEXIF say, "Finally: The definitive movie about the custom moto scene." Oil In The Blood is the first film to catalog the builders, riders and artists who are driving the custom motorcycle scene forward including many of today's top builders, such as Ian Barry of Falcon,

Max Hazan, Craig Rodsmith, Walt Siegl, Shinya Kimura, and Winston Yeh of Rough Crafts, and designers like Ola Stenegärd of Indian and Kurt Walter of Icon Motosports. Together with our Fast Forward gallery exhibit, we think this is going to be something quite special.

Next up is WAYNE, the story of the life of Wayne Gardner; from a steel and mining town in Australia and his first $5 dirt bike, to becoming the 1987 World Motorcycle Grand Prix Champion. Whether you follow Moto GP or not, this movie will most certainly have you glued to the screen, laughing and cheering on Wayne!

Closer to home, The Distinguished Gentleman is the story of Vincent Nicolai, one of the top five DGR fundraisers, worldwide. Earlier this year, Vincent's garage caught on fire with him in it causing burns to over 40% of his body and nearly ending his life. This film is about the power of community in the face of hardship.

The Distinguished Gentleman will have its World Premiere at TMFF and Director, JP Kathoefer, the production team, and Vincent will be riding up from NYC to join us. If you're in the NYC area and would like to join them, you can get more info here.

This is going to amazing and emotional. Bring Kleenex.

Those are just three of the new films we'll be screening at this year's Festival. We'll announce the rest on August 5th across all of our social media channels, so make sure you follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter.
